Co-Investment Program

Private Banking at its Most Exclusive Level

Our Co-Investment program is the foundation of the firm’s wealth management platform and leverages our relationship with the Milstein Family Office.  Over the course of more than a century, and across four entrepreneurial generations of family leadership, the Milstein Family Office has developed deep expertise in: industry, real estate, banking, private equity, and venture capital. Only opportunities that the family deems worthy of their own investment are ever surfaced to New York Private Bank & Trust clients, and always with what we believe to be fair and attractive co-investor terms. Examples of prior co-investment programs are below:

U.S. Realty Advisors: U.S. Realty Advisors is a commercial real estate firm that focuses on equity investments in single-tenant triple net leased properties. For such properties, the tenant pays a contractual net rent, which escalates throughout the lease term, and the tenant is required to pay all the taxes, insurance and other operating costs of the property.

Company Ventures: Company Ventures is an early-stage technology investment firm that invests across sectors, with a specific focus on digital healthcare, financial services and business software. Company Ventures leverages the Milstein family’s extensive venture ecosystem including 22 Vanderbilt— a 1.1mm sq. ft. vertical technology campus in the heart of NYC that houses high-growth startups. The campus is also home to Company Ventures’ residency program, Grand Central Tech, which has graduated 158 startups that have raised more than $3B in top-tier venture funding.

Abacus Direct Lending Program: Abacus focuses on originating senior secured loans to private equity sponsored, U.S.-based lower middle market companies and retains significant exposure in each loan. The portfolio consists primarily of first lien, floating rate, senior secured (cash flow based) loans to private equity sponsored companies in the United States.

Emigrant Partners Loan Participations:
Emigrant Partners and its affiliates have an investment track record of making minority non-voting participating debt investments in wealth and asset management firms dating back to 2007. Those investments are structured as participating (in certain cases, convertible) loans and generally provide a cash-pay quarterly coupon, with potential additional return based on the participating percentage of the firm’s adjusted cash flow and, in case of a liquidity event, participation in the firm’s equity value.

Qualified New York Private Bank & Trust clients should contact their NYPB&T advisor for further information regarding past and current co-investment opportunities.

Participations in the loans and investment products described herein are not deposits or other obligations of Emigrant Bank, New York Private Bank & Trust or any other depository institution, are not guaranteed by Emigrant Bank, New York Private Bank & Trust or any other depository institution, are not insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (“FDIC”) or any other governmental agency, and are subject to investment risks, including possible loss of principal amounts invested.

Descriptions of any loans, securities and investment products contained herein do not constitute an offer to sell or the solicitation of an offer to purchase any such loan, security or investment product.
